Feb. 27 Undergraduate Competition Reading Event

On Tuesday, February 27th we will celebrate the winning writer and runners up of the 2018 MU Undergraduate Juried Writing Competition. The reading will be held at the George Caleb Bingham Gallery, located in the Fine Arts Building on the MU Campus.

The event begins at 5:00 p.m. and the first reading will commence around 5:15 p.m..

After the reading, we will continue the celebration at SRLBX x THERETHERENOW (207 Hitt St.), where the winning piece will also be displayed on our new, permanent LED installation. Join us there for snacks and refreshments plus art and lovely people.

Don’t forget to come see us tonight at Makes Scents from 6-8pm. There will be poetry to hear, poetry to see, food and wine to taste, and lots of things to smell.

And if you simply must use all five senses, we also sell good ol’ printed books to touch, and we’ll have some on hand.

Makes Scents is located at 25 South 9th Street, Columbia, MO.

Readings will begin at 7pm.

Rebecca Pelky Reading at Makes Scents: Friday, September 1

On Friday, September 1, we will be celebrating the winner of the Tribune’s LED Contest with a reading and refreshments.

Makes Scents has graciously shared their window with us for a month, but next Friday, we’ll be filling the whole store! There will be snacks and wine, plus special promotions on some of Makes Scents wonderful wares.

The event will run from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and Rebecca’s reading will begin around 7:00.
